A major goal in the course is to learn how to write sensible and well-organized analytical essays about literary texts. We will look at poems from the time of Shakespeare to the Contemporary period. Is it someone who gains admiration through courage and strength, or is it someone who influences others intellectually? And, most importantly, what do their works tell us about Canada in the time in which they lived?
