Pacing is, for my money, one of the single greatest things that differentiate a great comic book from a good comic book. Some creators like Alan Moore Watchmen, V for Vendetta write long paragraphs of novel-style description where they describe the clothing each character is wearing, the vehicles, the set design, and even the camera angles because they want more control over the end result regardless of what artist gets hired to draw it.
Notice how some panels describe shot composition close-ups, wide shots, down-angles, etc. Like a one-shot, this is usually not the kind of book you want to pitch unless you are established already or have been asked to pitch in which case, why are you reading this? It has to tie up all or at least most loose ends and make sense according to the rest of the story.

If this is your first attempt at making comics, try to keep your story short and simple. Make sure that the script has everything that is important to you so that the artist can include it. Any letters that are found in a balloon instead of a panel depict thoughts.
